Renegate’s gating behavior is driven by a 43-band psychoacoustic auditory model rather than a basic amplitude detector.
This means the plugin responds to perceived loudness in a way that closely mirrors how the ear interprets sound, allowing it to distinguish meaningful signal from background noise more reliably.
Program-dependent hysteresis adapts automatically to the incoming material, removing the need to manually tune multiple parameters just to stop chatter or misfires. Built-in look-ahead ensures that fast transients are always caught cleanly, even with aggressive settings.
