M EQUALIZER

By Melda Production

M Equalizer

MEqualizer is a free 6-band parametric equaliser designed to balance simplicity with depth. It delivers precise frequency control through a familiar EQ workflow while adding subtle analogue-style character via integrated saturation and harmonic shaping.

With advanced visualisation tools built in, it’s an accessible EQ that still offers enough control for detailed mixing and corrective work.

System Requirements:

EQ Engine & Filter Design

Each of MEqualizer’s six bands can be configured with seven different filter types, allowing it to function as anything from a transparent corrective EQ to a more character-driven tone shaper.

Bands can be boosted, cut, or tightly focused using adjustable Q values, making it suitable for surgical resonance control as well as broader tonal shaping.

A built-in tube saturation and harmonics control adds gentle analogue-style colour when needed, helping digital sources feel fuller without pushing into obvious distortion. Used subtly, it enhances presence and density without compromising clarity.

Visualisation & Workflow

MEqualizer features a detailed graphical interface with a real-time spectrum analyser and sonogram, giving clear insight into both incoming signal content and EQ response.

All parameters can be adjusted directly from the graph, speeding up workflow and making problem frequencies easy to identify.

Additional visual feedback includes source level indication, Q display, and enable status directly within the EQ curve. Global preset management allows settings to be shared across projects, making it easy to recall favourite EQ shapes between sessions.

Key Features:

A free dynamic EQ that doubles as a de-esser, multiband compressor, and surgical parametric equaliser.

FAQ

Both. It works well for surgical cuts and clean boosts, but the saturation and harmonics controls make it equally useful for subtle tonal colouring.

MEqualizer is a static EQ rather than dynamic. It focuses on frequency shaping and tone, whereas Nova adds per-band dynamics and compression behaviour.

The sonogram provides time-based frequency information, making it easier to spot transient resonances or sustained problem frequencies.

No. Saturation and harmonics are optional and can be left neutral for fully transparent EQ processing.
